Leadfield is one of the most short-lived towns in the history of the American mining booms. It briefly flourished in 1926-27. Its main legacy is Titus Canyon Road, an automobile road connecting it to Beatty, Nevada.

The town never had a chance to grow really big, but it had a post office and its own newspaper. The majority of dwellings were tents and dugouts. However, a number of more permanent structures made of wood and corrugated metal were also erected.
